Wayfinding Signage , Horizon 120

Creating a great welcome

Horizon 120 is a business innovation and logistics park in Braintree, Essex. 4Site was involved in its development from the early stages, being asked to contribute our knowledge of how to build a brand through impactful signage.

Participating in site meetings, we learned about the quality of the Horizon offer and the range of customers the development wanted to attract. This informed our concept design for the statement signs at the entrance gates in particular.

The statement signs were made from Corten steel and illuminated internally, to give the lettering great stand out during the day and night.

What we did

  • Entrance statement signs
  • Gateway markers
  • Navigation signs
  • Low level park information signs
  • Low level pond area signs
  • Emergency/life buoy signs

Achieving the right finish

We selected Corten steel for its luxury industrial feel and because it was a good match for our client’s budget.

It needed regular “watering” at our manufacturing facilities, to speed up the rust maturing stage. This can take one to three years naturally.

In total the statement signs took three weeks to manufacture and installation of the full set of complementary site signage took close to two months.

The Corten steel signs play a big part in making Horizon 120 an attractive setting for businesses. They are a beautiful colour contrast to the blue tone of the surrounding glass structures. We really valued all the advice 4Site gave us on strengthening the Horizon brand with our wayfinding signage.
